After a little confusion when I was trying to open my new ISA, Tom was amazing and not only opened the account but sorted all my transfers into my new ISA for me. He advised me how it was going to be done and sure enough when I checked a couple of days later, everything had been transferred just as Tom had said it would be. Amazing service. I would highly recommend.

Visited York parliament branch to sort the funeral payment from my recently passed mother’s account a simple process so I was led to believe. Spent 3/4 hour stood at the counter getting nowhere the poor cashier tried his hardest but was obviously not trained and the manager was clearly not interested in the situation he did come over after about half a hour look at the screen said something to the cashier but never acknowledged me or apologised. Two calls to there head office to release the money still no avail by this time I was distressed as it had taken far too long and it’s not a easy time so I called a end to the farce. My mother had banked with nationwide all her life but they were unwilling to release HER money to pay for HER funeral you would think in these most difficult times they would make the process simple instead they made it as awkward as possible. I feel for the cashier he tried his hardest and was extremely polite but it’s clear people further up don’t care about the customers and to there point t of view my mother has passed so she’s no use as a customer anymore so why offer customer service absolutely shameful.

Glad I'm switching staff are rude and inconsiderate Beware if you put a £1000 cash into your current account you will asked where you got your money From ! You can't even deposit at a post office because Nationwide is building society which means always a trip to town. If your not happy with your current bank building society then switch there's a few offers on at the moment .

Bloody awful. I am at my wit's end. I can't find the branch opening hours on the huge website or by phone. My branch is closed - why? Training on a Wednesday morning? If so, why was I told to phone first thing? And why was I told to contact my advisor Mon-Tues-Wed (when he is at this branch), only to find he was at a meeting in another town on the Tuesday I called? He gave me his mobile number - why can't he answer, wherever he is? Is he actually permanently at home in bed? I have been a member since 1957 and am horrified at what Nationwide has become.
