One of the best barbers in town! I’ve been to several barbershops before and always left frustrated, but my experience with Alec has been the best by far. I’ve been there twice now, and he really understands what you want and delivers it perfectly every time. 10/10 — highly recommended!

Found this place several months ago and have had a few cuts from Connor so far. It’s pretty rare to go to a barber who delivers exactly what you describe you want. I prefer not to have clipper cuts and he is excellent with his scissor skills. He also does a great job on my beard and creates a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I’ve been coming to Blak Bear for quite a while now, first Walmgate and now Bridge Street. Connor always does a great job and he always goes above and beyond! Connor is happy to make recommendations and offer his professional opinion whenever I’m unsure what haircut to go for or when I want to change things up with my trim. The atmosphere at Blak Bear is welcoming, friendly and professional. Without a doubt the best barber shop in York.

Best barbers on the high street! wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else! Been going to Sinead for awhile now and wouldn’t ever go back to any other barber. I get the best results every time.

Had a trim by Joey today. Hair and beard. Great job, highly recommend. Never been there until today and I’m always sceptical but I was very impressed. Shame I’m not local otherwise I’d be there every week.
