Autohorn Car Rental

We rented a car for the leg of our honeymoon from York to Edinburgh. They were able to get us an upgrade which was great as the Volvo SUV was so nice to drive with plenty of space for all of our stuff. Georgina was great, she responded quickly and was very pleasant to work with when we picked up the car. Very happy with it all.

Autohorn is the only rental car within walking distance of York train station and it was SO easy. The online process is easy, the license confirmation is easy (they call you). The car pickup was unbelievably easy. So different from the major US car rental firms. The car was great and the return process was fast.

With a pick-up and drop-off location perfectly situated within staggering distance of the platforms of York Station, they are without question the best choice for anyone arriving to York by train and in need of a car. Add to that the fact that the staff are not only polite but genuinely friendly and helpful, the rental process snappy and fuss-free, and the cars immaculate. In fact, Autohorn may just be my new favourite car rental. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing a car in the York area.

Autohorn was a very good experience renting in York. The car was as promised and even better, in very clean condition. The customer service from Georgina was great. I left a pair of sunglasses in the car in my rush to the train station, and she was very helpful in getting them shipped back to me. My experience with them was very positive.

The entire renting process was easy to manage, and contact persons were very nice an professional. Collection and drop-off were uncomplicated and quick. Just two nit-picks: It was unclear whether there would be any surcharges for out-of-hours drop-off. The form said there would be, as sunday is out of operating hours. However, the office was staffed on sunday and we could drop the key without charges. Better to have this spelled out more clearly. Second, after drop-off, we received an email that there was a minor damage with the need for review, deposit would be held back for the time being. We never received another message, but the deposit was freed. Would be nice to have explicit confirmation that everything was fine in the end.
