Will never use a national chain for hiring vans again. This is just an entirely different experience that you can't get with their nationwide competitors. I initially booked an XLWB van but changed my mind as I didn't have the confidence and wanted an LWB instead. Changing my order was seamless, with zero headaches. Georgina was there to provide service from start to finish, incredibly friendly and absolutely no problems. Great value for money aswell, I got all the excess protections and wanted an out of hours drop off, all of this increased my price and it was still a better offer than what I could get elsewhere without the extras. As long as I remain in the York area, I will only ever be using Autohorn for rentals. For the sake of honesty, I will say there was one part of my experience which was negative and that was due to the vehicle I booked being a brand new van, it came with a nearly empty tank of diesel, which meant returning it with a nearly empty tank of diesel. This meant that while I had the van I had to be a lot more careful with fuel, I couldn't just use as much as I wanted and then fill it up just before I return it, I had to be careful not to fill it up too much otherwise I would lose a lot of money if I returned it with more fuel than it had when I picked it up. Definitely not bad enough to knock a star off (I would have been tempted to had I accidentally overfilled and lost some money though) But yeah, hired from national chains before, my first time trying local and it was just a significantly better experience start to finish.

I was honestly surprised to see a few negative reviews, as my experience with Autohorn was excellent from start to finish. My brand-new BYD was delivered free to my London address — right on time and in pristine condition. The car itself was fantastic, and the service matched. Jon was responsive and helpful with all my questions, and the accounts team were a pleasure to deal with — efficient and friendly. If I had one small suggestion, it would be for the delivery driver to give a quick walkthrough of the car’s features before handing over the keys, especially for those of us new to electric vehicles. That aside, I’m a pretty detail-focused (some might say picky!) customer — and I’m happy to give Autohorn a full five stars.

Charge you a deposit which they don’t give you back then make up there was lots of little dents and try charge you for them which they never pointed out when picking the car up. Money making scheme with very unhelpful people who work there.

I needed a short term hire car (2 months), as my new car was delayed. I found Autohorn to be the best value I could find. The service from start to finish was fantastic. All the staff from setting up the lease to delivery/collection were very friendly and helpful and made the whole process easy and stress free.
