Fab service from this surgery. I'm a patient with Heworth green normally. Had a fairly urgent issue, and not only did they get me seen on the day yesterday, both the Dr and the receptionist were lovely. Very professional and personable.

Very Serious – Discriminatory Receptionist Very sad experience My friend, a very kind and shy woman of colour , has been dealing with health problems and recently went to emergency care. She has also waited almost two months for an appointment after the practice said she would be booked in, and even received a call confirming this. At reception, the receptionist doubted her, immediately questioned her credibility, cut her off mid-sentence, avoided answering her questions, and was rude and dismissive — despite valid proof in text messages and calls from the practice. Reception dismissed her to register online, completely ignoring the practice’s delay and responsibility. When she contacted me afterward, she felt broken, as if she had done something wrong. I have zero tolerance for discrimination. All staff should be smiley and kind to everyone, no matter their skin tone. This specific receptionist’s behaviour should be formally reviewed for racial profiling. Unprofessional, discriminatory, and unfit for a healthcare role. I do not recommend this practice for a person of colour. I am also considering reporting this to the GMC.

I‘d like to leave a comment on Dr Zahra Parsian, she was just amazing! I didn't have many opportunities to see a doctor; however, my limited experiences were always unpleasant. When my family and I went to see the doctor in the GP surgery, they didn't seem to be patient and helpful...Dr Zahra really listened to me, and she was extremely patient and friendly. I felt warm inside.

I regret reading the reviews and thinking it can't be that bad. The actual GP office itself is so run down and not cared for. None of my calls ever got answered by a human, despite trying every option on the phone line. No communication from the GP following a stay in hospital and multiple letters from hospital doctor to GP. The only option for an appointment is to fill out an online form, which I was notified of 4-6 weeks wait time. I missed a call for my follow up appointment and never got any communication back for over two weeks at which point I gave up and left the practice. Prior to leaving, I went into the practice to complain. The receptionist tried to get the pharmacist/ GP on the phone of which was unsuccessful and she was unable to help me further. Also, I did a test at the GP and never got any results.

I was asked to collect a form to go to hospital, website said they closed at 18:00 hrs, arrived 17:01 at Tanghall surgery notice on the door said open until 18:00. Only to find the door locked and all the lights out. I think you need to change your notice on the door and on your website.
