Wenlock Terrace Surgery

UPDATED REVIEW: I've changed my rating from 3* to 5*. Previously their phone service was atrocious, but over the years they've made various updates to it, meaning booking an appointment over phone is easy now. My favourite change is that when there's a queue, they'll call you back when it's your turn rather keeping you on the line. Additionally, I've had wonderful experiences with all of the nurses. They've been supportive with everything I've come in for, and they always make an effort to help me feel comfortable. I'm glad I stayed with Unity Health, because I don't know if I'd have such lovely experiences with staff elsewhere. OLD REVIEW: While their phone service is certainly awful, it's easy to get an appointment within the next few days if you go in to the surgery.

I have had reason to use Unity health Kimberly hill over the last six weeks and I found them to be excellent, I had a very quick response to my request to see the Doctor ( same day appointment) The doctor the Nurses and reception staff all amazing ,a very quick hospital visit was arranged and the nurses and specialists were very helpful and most of all very reassuring. My partner has a repeat prescription for lifesaving medication. Medication that will leave her at high risk of DVT, stroke or death if not taken. It has taken weeks of contacting the surgery and they have still failed to sign off the prescription. This is just the latest, worst example of this happening every time her medication runs out. As for appointments? Impossible to get within the same month that you need it. The last time she got a doctor's app she waited weeks and weeks for it, and at the last minute it was changed to a phone call with a nurse. This doctors surgery is a joke and I wonder how many people have died due to their incompetence. Do NOT sign up to this joke of a medical practice. They should be ashamed.

Absolutely useless. Receptionists are almost always rude and unhelpful, but what’s worse is that they don’t do their job properly. The GP here is supposed to be responsible for my repeat prescriptions and I had requested my medication quite a while ago, but nothing until I’ve run out so I phoned up the pharmacy and they told me there has been no prescriptions for me (what does that even mean?). I’ve had several issues before as well and they can’t do something as simple as uploading some documentation onto the system. I don’t understand how they can do this, people could die because of the extent to which the clinic’s pathetic staff don’t care. Avoid at all costs if you can.

Repeatedly poor experiences: Unsympathetic, unhelpful receptionists. I’ve had multiple failings from unity health and I am going to be changing healthcare providers. Any students moving to York I would recommend keeping your home GP.
