Reeds Rains Estate Agents York

I’ve been chased by Reeds Rains for months to pay for a tenant’s new ceiling due to damp, wrongly assumed to be coming from my flat above. Threatening emails, quotes from dodgy tradesman and plenty of phone calls. When I inspected the ceiling with the tenant we discovered it was actually coming from their broken extractor fan in their bathroom. Once this information was relayed to Reeds Rains they have failed to rectify the problem after a month of knowing about it. They have also promised to move an ex tenants old furniture from the apartment block which has now been sat there since June. They are utterly useless and rent out properties that are unsafe. In this case an enclosed bathroom with no ventilation. If possible don’t rent through them and don’t let your property with them.

Moved me into a room with an en suite, that wasnt plumbed in. Water literally gushing all over the floor. This is after a month of delays caused by their failure to communicate, almost leaving me homeless because they kept saying the property was almost ready. They told me they wanted me in as soon as possible in november, I had to wait until january before getting in. This would have been fine if they had given me even 24 hours notice of the delays which they didnt, so I was left with an upcoming end of tenancy with nowhere to live. My housemate had a similar experience except he genuinely was made homeless by their delays. If you must use them, dont believe a word, and get everything in writing and record all phone calls. A consistently disappointing, horrifically incompetent, though seemingly well-meaning team.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars for Saint Will – The Most Patient Estate Agent Alive! Will has been my estate agent and part-time therapist for the past seven months. During that time, he’s had the unique pleasure of dealing with me on a near-daily basis. I had him on speed dial, and at this point, I’m pretty sure he shudders every time his phone rings. Selling my property turned into a LONG emotional roller coaster, mostly with me screaming in the front row and Will calmly offering metaphorical snacks and reassurance from the control booth. He handled my tantrums, my overthinking, my overwhelming amount of emails, and my Olympic-level impatience with unreal professionalism and kindness. This man deserves a pay rise, a holiday, and possibly a Knighthood. He managed to keep the sale (and my sanity) together with more patience than I thought humanly possible. If there’s an Estate Agent Hall of Fame, put Will in it. In short: if you want someone who’ll sell your house and not run screaming into the hills when you lose it over paperwork, Will’s your guy. The man’s a legend. Shout out to Kyle for much of the same when covering for Will!

I spoke to a few estate agents in York for the sale of my flat and after meeting Kyle I knew that I would be in safe hands. It wasn't the most straightforward sale but the team were fantastic. I want to especially mention Emily as she was patient and understanding and kept the sale alive and moving forward, without her we would likely have pulled out.
