From the moment my father passed away at home, the team from Co-op Funeralcare on Cromwell Road (York) treated him, and our whole family, with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The two gentlemen who came to collect him were thoughtful, gentle, and reassuring at a time when we felt at our most vulnerable. Every member of staff we dealt with at the branch showed the same kindness throughout. Our funeral director, Will Jones, was especially comforting. His calm manner and clear guidance made an incredibly difficult process feel manageable. From choosing a coffin and flowers to arranging the service itself, everything ran smoothly. Moments we had dreaded were eased, and every special request we made was accommodated without hesitation. We are very grateful for the care, patience, and professionalism shown to us at such a painful time. Thank you.

Caring. compassionate and supportive service for my recently deceased father in law. Nothing was too much trouble. Great attention to detail to ensure the day ran seamlessly. Special mention to Joanne. who was brilliant.

Client asked us to post on their behalf , Dear Sir or Madam I am the Events Manager (and owner) of reMARKable AV & Events of York. One of our regular clients is York Museums Trust We provided the audio system for Ellie’s Funeral at the Hospitium and Museum Gardens yesterday for her family & friends and her Police Colleagues . Joanne asked me to pop in and see her last week at Cromwell Road, as she was having problems with trying to source the music – so we discussed it, and we sourced the music for her (some not available on Spotify). I met Joanne before the funeral yesterday on site, just to make sure we were all ‘singing from the same hymn book’ so to speak . We were ! The funeral went seamlessly and was so dignified. I stayed outside to monitor the outdoor sound system, and I was indeed - very emotional. To get to the point - Joanne is a credit to you ! So professional and friendly. She was smart and dignified and obviously knew her role inside out – you could have heard a pin drop at certain points of the service – and all eyes were on Joanne - and her team. Huge pressure on her I would have thought . Her kindness shone through Please send my best wishes to Joanne and her team

This was a funeral care plan payed for in advance! The positives - 5 stars - to The funeral director, Donna, who helped us on the day of the funeral and who was absolutely lovely and brilliant and was sympathetic and caring. The negatives - 2 stars - Unfortunately our first impressions of CO-OP were the lady who met us at the office to arrange the funeral - Janet. She didn't offer us any condolences, came across as being dispassionate and uncaring (she may not have been, but that's how she came across) and a bit disorganised - the questions she need answering were scribbled on a piece of paper, and she walked out of our meeting in the middle and kept us waiting while she went off to deal with another customer - It wasn't very professional and certainly didn't make us feel as though we were a priority or important customers when grieving the loss of a loved one. Overall - everything was organised as per our wishes and it went exactly as planned so we are satisfied, but customer service at the office could definitely do with some work!

Worst neighbours ever. You would think living next door to a funeral home you would not have to worry about noise from the neighbours. However Co-op funeralcare seem to think it's acceptable to hire industrial grade landscaping equipment to trim a hedge that a pair of manual clippers could easily tackle in under 30mins. Apparently they are unaware that their neighbours work from home and have been unable to take work meetings whilst this work happens because even through closed (in the middle of summer) double glazed windows the noise is deafening. The fact that the workers have to wear ear protection whilst this work goes on should be clue enough that it's unacceptable to subject their neighbours to this level of noise. Certainly unacceptable for a funeral home. The contractors they have hired are clearly taking the mick just repeatedly revving their equipment without actually touching the hedge to drag out the job as long as possible. It legitimately would have been quicker with a pair of scissors than how long it took the two clowns they hired.
