The Washing Well Launderette

For Self service - 2 20# machines £6, 2 30# machines (1 OOO) £8, 1 40# £10. Attendant will take payment (£/CC) & start machine. 6 dryers - £1/6 minutes. Coin operated. She made change for us. Attendant estimated £5 to dry.

I have to say the place itself is fit for purpose and its cleans & drys as a launderette should. The bad points, being the lady who without wanting to be rude I have to say, she’s simply very miserable and unhelpful, seemingly not wanting to be there. She didn’t answer me when I asked for a dryer just pointed to the contactless machines. I have to say this is always the case when I visit. The shop is filthy, dust on all of the machines and dryers, windows, floor. Just not very well maintained in anyway.

I would give 10 stars if I could to The Washing Well, York ! They are an impeccable Laundry service. Amazing communication with Carl, and linen was always beautifully cleaned and pressed and delivered to our exact timeframes. Drivers willing to go the extra mile when we had a couple of emergency laundry situations. A reliable, low maintenance, highly professional service - a dream to work with.

Used the facilities for the first time 2 weeks ago and was greeted by a friendly Eastern European girl who was very helpful in showing me the ropes. I went back today and had to deal with "Bev" who tried to tell me that it would be £10 to dry my clothes! (£5 last time) Which was hard work. I will now use the facilities on a Sunday in the hope that she isn't around otherwise completely happy with the service.

Used this because of the reviews staff helpful just as well as I messed things up how that's possible in a launderette I don't know able to wash and dry my 10 kg mixed load in about 45 mins also good opening hours.
