I made it explicitly clear from day one that I was time-limited and that speed was critical and was assured this would be handled accordingly. Despite this, RG Law’s handling of both my sale and purchase has been completely unacceptable. I was told draft contracts for my sale were issued on 26th November. After weeks of chasing and being repeatedly assured that everything was “fine” and being actively pursued, my estate agent informed me— three weeks later — that my buyer’s solicitor was still chasing RG Law for the draft contracts. When challenged, RG Law admitted a trainee had been overseeing my file and that they had simply “forgotten to send them”, causing a 23-day delay. Following this, I spent weeks requesting callbacks that were missed or avoided, only to then learn that the freeholder had been waiting over a month for a reply from RG Law. Searches were returned on my purchase over three weeks ago. I am still chasing for my search report and have had no feedback whatsoever on these. I raised a formal complaint last week and was promised a call every Monday morning to set expectations for the week and provide assurances. I told them I would clear my diary to be available. It is now midday and, once again, no call has happened. I am paying over £5,000 and have had to repeatedly chase them to do basic aspects of their job. We are now just 2.5 weeks away from my required moving date and are nowhere near where we should be due to avoidable delays, poor communication, and missed commitments. If you want a solicitor who forgets to send draft contracts for weeks, fails to respond to freeholders, ignores returned searches, and does not follow through on promised calls, then this is the firm for you. This has been an extremely stressful and disappointing experience, currently taking advice on escalation to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Ombudsman and will be seeking compensation. Will I receive my promised call today? Probably not.

RG Law were outstanding from start to finish. Communication is key ! Buying a house is probably up there as one of the most stressful points, but with RG Law dealing with the purchase, I couldnt have asked for a better solicitor.
