I wanted to leave this fair review because as someone who was a first time buyer, it is really hard to know which solicitor firm to use! I went off friend recommendations and reviews which is why I think this is important so I hope this helps someone out. The three stars are all for the most wonderful assistant Georgia Loch who helped me in the buying process with extreme professionalism, kindness, and top notch communication. I explained to Georgia I was new to the process, and from that moment on she made sure to explain everything simply to me, summarise our conversations via email, and triple check I was okay with all the information being sent my way. She was so easy to get hold of on the phone and if she ever missed my calls she would ring me back immediately. I hear she has now moved up to taking on her own clients and I am so thrilled for her, she absolutely deserves it! As I was nearing exchange and completion, Georgia unfortunately shifted to be as assistant for a different solicitor leaving my process at a loose end. After that, unfortunately communication was very sparse, it was unclear who I should have been communicating with, and it meant that everything became quite stressful for myself. Our exchange date did get delayed by two weeks but we were still able to complete on time in mid January. I am very aware that I did have a very easy process as house buying goes! I worry that if I hadn't of had Georgia, how easy the first four months would have been, but obviously hard to know! I do appreciate all the efforts of the team and I think when Georgia shifted from being our assistant, it was due to quite a few solicitors leaving and they had to have a move around. I imagine that being a stressful time for them all, so considering that, they did okay after this.

RG Law were outstanding from start to finish. Over the years, across multiple purchases and remortgages, I’ve dealt with a number of conveyancing firms, and RG Law — and Calvin in particular — have been the best by a very clear margin. Communication was consistently excellent, advice was clear and knowledgeable, and the whole process was handled with professionalism and care. I’m extremely grateful for how smoothly and competently everything was managed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend RG Law. I expect to be buying again in 2026 and would absolutely want Calvin acting for me again. Highly recommended.

I made it explicitly clear from day one that I was time-limited and that speed was critical and was assured this would be handled accordingly. Despite this, RG Law’s handling of both my sale and purchase has been completely unacceptable. I was told draft contracts for my sale were issued on 26th November. After weeks of chasing and being repeatedly assured that everything was “fine” and being actively pursued, my estate agent informed me— three weeks later — that my buyer’s solicitor was still chasing RG Law for the draft contracts. When challenged, RG Law admitted a trainee had been overseeing my file and that they had simply “forgotten to send them”, causing a 23-day delay. Following this, I spent weeks requesting callbacks that were missed or avoided, only to then learn that the freeholder had been waiting over a month for a reply from RG Law. Searches were returned on my purchase over three weeks ago. I am still chasing for my search report and have had no feedback whatsoever on these. I raised a formal complaint last week and was promised a call every Monday morning to set expectations for the week and provide assurances. I told them I would clear my diary to be available. It is now midday and, once again, no call has happened. I am paying over £5,000 and have had to repeatedly chase them to do basic aspects of their job. We are now just 2.5 weeks away from my required moving date and are nowhere near where we should be due to avoidable delays, poor communication, and missed commitments. If you want a solicitor who forgets to send draft contracts for weeks, fails to respond to freeholders, ignores returned searches, and does not follow through on promised calls, then this is the firm for you. This has been an extremely stressful and disappointing experience, currently taking advice on escalation to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Ombudsman and will be seeking compensation. Will I receive my promised call today? Probably not.

Highly recommend this law firm who helped with my sale and purchase. Bethany was absolutely amazing and took all the stress out of our process, which had been very stressful and involved 2 previous firms. It is 100% worth it to pay a little bit more to get the quality RG Law provides. Bethany was so communicative, quick and always happy to help with my many queries. Communication is key ! Buying a house is probably up there as one of the most stressful points, but with RG Law dealing with the purchase, I couldnt have asked for a better solicitor. Kimberley went above and beyond throughout the whole process, keeping us updated every step of the way. She kept our spirits high and managed our expectations brilliantly. I cannot thank Kimberley and her team enough for their expertise and professionalism. They were thorough throughout my case, and their in-depth knowledge gave me great confidence. They were also very responsive, which was incredibly reassuring during a stressful time. I was delighted with the positive experience and will defintely use them again in the future and have already recommended them to friends and colleagues.
