THE BEST bakery in York ever!! Service is superb, tasty coffee, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. And all baked staff just amazing! We tried almost everything: croissants, pan chocolates, cinnamon buns, onion-marmite, maple-bacon, almond croissants 😍 the size is huge as well. Also, unique sandwiches every month, our favourite is kimchi-blue cheese so far🤯 Sourdough also great, especially the rye one! Absolutely recommend this place to everyone!

Yet another BANGER of a bakery, Cosgriff and Sons have nailed the concept serving delicious fresh sweet and savoury baked goods out of a super central spot, perfect for taking away and enjoying in the Tower Gardens while watching the world go by. In lieu of breakfast, I had the most amazing pork, sausage and apple pie, which I finished off with this out-of-this-world raspberry / white chocolate pastry and their excellent coffee, and was good for most of the rest of the day. I’m not sure when I’ll be back to York, but when I am, Cosgriff will be my first stop in town.

Do not bother getting your coffee and pastries from the chain retailers. Call in on this fantastic establishment and get yourself the most amazing coffee and delicious pastry. They also do savoury products too!

Love these guys! We only visit York once or twice a year but end up here multiple times during our stays. Excellent (and massive) pastries, and really good coffee as well. Be warned: the sandwiches are HUGE - you might want to share!
