Atmosphere and decor was typical for bakehouses like these so nothing special. Food itself was very sweet and tasty so recommend trying when you are in York. However, what I didn’t like was I presume the manager lady (wearing all black). When we first came in we asked if they still have some Oreo donuts, we were told that they were sold out and only lotus biscoff is left. Okay fair enough but 5 mins later we saw them unpacking fresh Oreo donuts and selling them. When we asked we thought you don’t sell and have any Oreo donuts today the woman just told us ‘oh I told you we have Oreo and you choose biscoff’. And here I think they need some customer service lesson, firstly, if you are not busy you should maybe clean tables, floor and empty plates, mugs especially if you were closing in ‘30 mins’. Secondly, don’t gaslight your customers or maybe in general if you do it in private life as well. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with customer service in this place.
The donuts were not too expensive and really fresh and tasty and they had a good selection of coffee syrups. The service was prompt, the staff were lovely, friendly and professional. I liked the atmosphere of the cafe, it was very welcoming, I will be returning
Ordered a couple of doughnuts. The raspberry one was okay, Apart from the jammy dodger on top there wasn’t much raspberry flavour, The swirl of buttercream on top was really not very nice, I have a sweet tooth and it was too much for me and it was really gritty too My partner had the lemon flavoured one which again didn’t have much of a lemon flavour. The buttercream on top was really artificial tasting. We also ordered some kinder cookie things. I can’t rework out what they were meant to be. The kinder on top was stale and the white chocolate wasn’t very nice. The Rocky Road underneath was good though.
Came across this shop in York that had amazing donuts! We are vegan so it was even more special when they had loads of vegan options. They also offer alternatives to milk so we sat down inside and had amazing donuts with cappuccino. A place to visit for all sweet tooth lovers. Staff were also very friendly :)
It was absolutely awesome and I'll be there happily. I wasn't expecting that kinda delicious coffee but doughnuts was not the only thing that was perfect, but also coffees. Very kind and friendly staff. There might be a little bit better atmosphere but that's not a big problem at all.
