Using this shop for the last 6 months whilst living in york has been great however the woman with the short hair and large stature roughly around 50-60's attitude is disgusting every time I have gone in and tried to thank her I've been ignored with her finding it more fun to chat to the other coworkers on her headset (I have no issues with the other workers) although the first time she actually responded to me and acknowledged me was when she asked to see my id for a mountain dew not having my passport on me I showed her my university id which she swiftly denied saying 'I can't except that' even though it has my date of birth on it. Usually id understand if I was trying to buy alcohol but it was a mountain dew a drink I didn't even know had a rating for 16 which I am very far away from as I have several facial piercings which you actually need to be 16 to get done. Her attitude is appauling and just rude overall ignoring other customers chatting on her headset to her friends making jokes. It's just heavily disappointing because it is a great shop but her customer service skills are abysmal it seriously needs to be discussed. Luckily when I walked all the way back to my flat to get my id and came back to the store to attempt to get the contraband that is 'mountain dew' she was leaving the store as I watched her nearly run into someone on an e bike and the cashier I did have used their brain and sold me the mountain dew without needing to see my id.

Most of Staff are lovely & prices are fairly okay, only downside I have is one of the staff members a lady in her 40s is always rude to everyone she serves, why work in that sector if you absolutely hate customers? It’s a bit embarrassing that a woman twice the age of me clearly needs training on how to act with people.

Very very useful market in our area with reasonable prices. Stuff is friendly, I never had issues with them, only help. At least I can compare with other shops in the area and prefer Spar.

A lady with dark hair and brown complexion I don't know her name she's quite young early 20s maybe. She's a very mardy young lady and her attitude stinks its unprofessional and I have made a complaint its dreadful customer service. You come into a shop expecting it to be a friendly atmosphere and a place you feel comfortable in shopping at you DONT expect to be yelled at like your a criminal and then not been told why until after she's done yelling at you. No one should have to tolerate that and I have Autism and that messed my head up for TWO days thanks a lot! whatever your name is. Turns out when me and my friend were buying our goods after her huge yelling session, apparently we weren't social distancing even though me and my friend were making every effort to keep the two metres from one another in the store which most people wouldn't have even bothered to do anyway and the staff knew we had come in together as well they saw us come in. This staff member overreacted when all she had to do was ask politely even though we weren't breaking any rules anyway ffs. All she had to do was ask nicely but nope she yelled and that is why you get a one star. Treat your customers with respect. Stop speaking to your customers like criminals or naughty children. Rant over

Excellent Store, as with Today's Local helped out with work experience in retail. I would recommend this store as they have a lovely variety of foods. The sandwiches are brilliant! Useful for ATM & friendly staff who have customer service 5 star!
