We always very much enjoy our visits to Coppergate Kitchen. We've been semi-regular patrons for some years and have enjoyed morning coffees, lunches, and afternoon teas. The ambience is just how we like it; calm, clean and efficient. The staff are friendly, attentive and personable. Special mention goes to Sophie F, who is delightful. Nothing is too much trouble and her outgoing manner strikes just the right note. Today we visited twice, for morning coffee and afternoon tea and were pleased to encounter Sophie on each occasion. Since the York M&S cafe was refurbished and no longer serves tea in pots (!), the Coppergate Kitchen in Fenwick's is our default destination!
Coppergate Kitchen is a favourite on our regular trips into York. Tucked away inside one of our favourite stores Coppergate Kitchen is a calm and very comfortable oasis in a very busy city. The staff are lovely, friendly, helpful and always professional. Excellent coffee (I'm fussy lol) and the food is also excellent. Breakfast/brunch is outstanding. The steak sandwiches are elite as are our favourite salads - Caesar and the chopped salad with prawns, highly recommend! There's no shortage of nice places to eat in York but Coppergate Kitchen is consistently good. Looking forward to our next visit
I had a delightful experience at this charming restaurant inside Fenwick's. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and the staff were exceptionally attentive, making us feel welcomed throughout our visit. We indulged in their cream tea set, along with some refreshing beverages, and it was truly enjoyable. The food quality was excellent, enhancing the overall experience. I must say, I prefer this spot over Betty's for its cozy ambiance and personalised service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful tea time treat!
Polite & warm, helpful service, felt really looked after. I enjoyed the sirloin steak medium rare with bernaise sauce on the side and watercress/cress & shallot salad in a delicate dressing with freshly cooked fries. The whole meal and experience was perfection. Thank you
Dreadful in my experience and that of my 2 accompanying friends. Very expensive, in the end I ordered an omelette which was supposed to contain 3 eggs but which, to me, was at most 2 eggs with whites stiffly whipped to make it seem bigger. Nothing accompanied it, not even a bit of salad garnish. Cost was £11.50, we refused to pay the service charge. Daylight robbery! 😡
