Furniture Village - York

Ordered an expensive chest of drawers. When I unpacked it I couldn’t believe what I’m seeing. Piece was completely damaged. Never seen anything like this. Called and politely asked for pick up and refund. Then called again on Friday to ask if they could confirm the pickup. I’ve got a massive chest of drawers blocking my hallway and no word form the company on when this will be picked up. Not to mention no one informed me that you cannot do finance when you choose furniture pick up. In anybody in the company, at all, cares. Could you please contact me and arrange a pickup of the damaged furniture? Edit: They do not care. The manager in York told me not to raise my voice after I demanded something to be done with this. What an absolute joke of a company. Who owns this company and do they know what is going on ? Aftercare team sent me to warehouse, warehouse sent me to the store, the store sent me to after care and the cycle continued. Omit this place at all costs. Spend you money somewhere else.

Never been in such a friendly furniture store! My pooch Freddie was fussed over by all the staff and it would be wonderful if more stores could be as accommodating with our four legged babies, will definitely be getting our next sofa from here as the choice and quality was outstanding! UPDATE we returned 5/10/25 and purchased our sofa (see pics) with the help of the wonderful Samantha who despite it being 6 months remembered us (well definitely Freddie anyway) and made us feel like valued customers.

Excellent customer service from Michael Rovardi. He was friendly without being overbearing and very knowledgeable when helping us make up our minds about a bad and ottoman divan. Having been to other bed retailers on the same retail park, there was a marked positive difference in his attitude and manner to customer service which definitely helped in our decision in who to purchase from.

I got exactly the right mattress for me, the sales assistant was on her own in the shop, but her customer service was 100% for all customers. I took delivery on the due date well within the given timescales on a red hot day. I can't fault Bobby's service, a polite phone call early morning to confirm delivery. The politest man you could wish to meet, delighted I'd put the mattress to be taken away in the bag provided when I bought the mattress. Bobby unwrapped the new mattress, and put it on the divan base. He also gave me maintenance information to keep my mattress up to standard. Would I shop at Dreams again? Absolutely!

Absolutely exceptional! We had walked out of SCS next door as no one had approached us. Feeling a little glum we visited the Furniture Village in York. We were warmly welcomed by Steve G. He offered us coffee and said we were welcome to browse the Showroom. We went in looking for a 3 seater and a love chair. We've had an L shape grey sofa for the last 8 years and wanted a change but then we found our perfect sofa, an L shape grey sofa! Service was excellent. Steve was great. Very friendly and approachable. Very knowledgeable. Happy to leave us to it until we had questions. The sofa was a great price too. We went home to measure it and called Steve to confirm we wanted to go ahead and pay the deposit. We returned a couple of days later to pay for the sofa. Lovely lady advised Steve was on the phone but he'd be over soon. After a short wait a colleague of Steve came over and offered to help us pay. Excellent service all round. We'd not had this company on our list of sofa places but they couldn't have done more. Exceptional and the delivery was great too! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Great welcome, great service, great price and great sofa. Visit this place. You won't be disappointed. A huge thank you to all involved 👍👍
