Returning for carpeting for our hallway, stairs and upstairs landing, Rodgers choice of floor coverings and in-store advice is just great. Always pleasant to deal with, easy to arrange and straightforward, they give a premium service. We had exceptional service yesterday when I visited Rodgers of York with my elderly parents. I was trying to organise a Rise and Recline chair for my mum to use in her care home, but as she is very frail and can barely walk, any outing is a major undertaking. We had a nice lunch on arrival, which saved a lot of hassle finding somewhere else to take them for lunch. Aside from the cafe being a little dark, and the drinks choice being a bit limited for my mum (the apple juice was the unsweetened kind!), that all went great. Excellent Bakewell tart made my dad very happy. The availability of toilets was excellent, which can be a major issue with elderly folk. Two regular toilets off the cafe, and a disabled toilet plus two more regular ones in the show room. The disabled one was clean, well equipped and fine with my mum's wheelchair. All of that meant it was then easy for us to focus on trying out the chairs. We had excellent assistance from Olly. He demonstrated the key features of the chairs we had come to see, explained which ones were the right size for my mum and which for my dad, got us some coffee and left us to try them out. It was extremely helpful, no hard sell at all, and he came back to answer questions very patiently when we had them. We had come to try out Celebrity Cloud Zero chairs, and there was a good range available. But in the end my mum was very comfortable in a Sherborne Cloud Comfort chair which they had in stock in the warehouse, so available within about a week rather than 6-7 weeks. Trying to achieve anything with two frail elderly people and one wheelchair is always a bit of a challenge, but Rodgers provided pretty much a dream retail experience and I am extremely grateful. With the VAT taken off (given my mum's disabilities) she is ending up with a fantastic chair which she can pretty much live in, sleep in and get out of safely, for less than we had expected to spend.
