A magical experience full of light and colour that will give you a little bit of that Christmas feeling whenever you visit. The low beams and odd shaped rooms lend themselves well to creating a homely, comforting feeling and are used to their best advantage here. You would need to be aware that mobility impaired visitors might find it a challenge to fully explore all areas of the shop, situated as it is on two floors of a very old and internally complex building. This is far from being the cheapest Christmas store I have ever visited. In fact I would actually say it is very much at the higher end of the cost spectrum. But that said, the quality is definitely there and even if you can only afford to come away with one addition to your collection of decorations, you can be sure it will be an addition that will still be pleasing you for many years to come.
Woman barked at us before we even got to the door: "No drinks allowed!" My friend had just finished a hot chocolate. I held the cup up to the lady when we got nearer and said: It's empty!? And she snatched it off me and said "Right!". I took one more step then turned around and told my friend I'd rather not do business there. So we squeezed back out the one-way system and out the door. How completely rude and unnecessary. If staff don't want to deal with the public, especially around Christmas time when you're running a Christmas shop, then maybe you should rethink your choice of job. I hope she's still standing there scowling with an empty Nero cup in her hand. You're welcome. **To the Kathë Wohlfahrt team, in response to your reply: I very much appreciate that you have sent a thoughtful and timely apology about the situation which happened Monday. I was quite surprised that you have replied to my Google Review. I work in town and would be happy to return to your shop for another visit considering you have tried to repair the situation. It would be especially kind if you would consider gifting us the two matt pickles we had come in for that day. I would gladly remove my lovely AI Nero cup image in return. Kind regards, Nancy
Absolutely wonderful Christmas paradise (all the KW are). Staff were lovely and helpful. However, compared to their locations in Germany and Belgium, prices here are so much higher. Because I this, I couldn’t justify buying anything (only time I’ve ever walked out of a Käthe Wohlfahrt empty handed). I definitely love KW - just didn’t love UK prices. I’ll save my purchases for my next trip to Germany.
If you are a big Christmas lover like me, you absolutely must visit this shop! It is stunning! You work youre way through all the floors on a one way stytem so it doesn't get hectic trying to squeeze past people. The building is very old so expect low ceilings at 5ft4 i never struggled, the 6ft4 giamt with me had a hard time in parts 🤣 bring a heavy purse its pricey!
Walked in with missus to "just have a look" and walked away with £300 of stuff that we love until this day. Dangerous place for wallets. The atmo will get you.
