Fantastic shops as there’s 2, one for wools/needles/patterns & other products you might use & the other for fabrics & products to help you sew. Lovely ladies that own the shop, fab help from Kate & even offered a cuppa, very nice indeed, it’s great to have these shops so close to the shopping area @ (Clifton moor York), such brilliant products & fab service & free parking, wheelchair friendly, good prices too. The ladies also offer workshops, just go onto their website for more information. Love these shops already. I bought of course as a fantastic range of products & so nice to get help unlike when you buy on the net, I will be back. Thank you ladies 😍

Brilliant place. All the ladies are wonderful and have such great knowledge on the vast array of superb products on sale, and the after sales backup is there whether a purchase is large or small, so one can be assured of great customer service. The welcome is always warm and it’s just a lovely place to spend some time.

I recently went here, after hearing such good reviews from my friends, with my son. My son wanted me to make a tote bag, as a surprise for his girlfriend. I’m new to any kind of knitting/crochet and I have never sewn anything before. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, as we were both clueless. They spent lots of time with us, explaining all the different types of materials - my son didn’t know which one his girlfriend would like. After settling on one, we popped next door, to their wool shop, who were just as helpful. We left very happy with our wool and material. The ladies advised how much we would need of both, for the pattern I was going to use. I was going to have the bag professionally lined, but after the quote of £42, I bought a sewing machine and my son sewed it himself. I fitted it into the bag and added a zip - all first time for us both. My son has gone onto altering his t-shirts and I have made some make-up bags, with the leftover fabric. I couldn’t recommend this establishment more. Whether you’re a novice or experienced, you’ll get the same 10/10 experience

Such a massive amount of variety and materials and offers for all textile lovers. Staff were more than amazing and can't wait to go back again for more bargains and inspiration.

My 11 year old daughter and I went on a beginners sewing course at Bugweeds (taught by Catherine). Catherine was lovely and a great teacher. We both really enjoyed the course and would highly recommend the courses to anyone (as well as a visit to the amazing fabric shop). By the end of the course we could both knit! Thank you Bugweeds and Catherine!
