One of those great places to visit in York if you are looking for a unique gift. The products in this shop have all been handmade by local craftspeople and include stunning glass designs, handmade cards, jewellery, key rings and even a variety of flavoured chocolate shards. The shop is very spacious and light and upstairs the same space is available for a variety of workshops. See the board in the shop or check out their website for specific details. I could spend a lot of money in this shop! Well worth a visit.
Fabrication is an independent social enterprise with a retail shop on Stonegate selling a wide range of art and craft items from local makers. There's jewellery, ceramics, homeware, textiles, paintings and photographs, and greetings cards. The staff are friendly and helpful. It also hosts a range of craft workshops. Go along and support your local makers and creatives!
Inside the shop was such beautiful pieces of art work from lots of different artists. I had seen many different items I wanted to buy but decided against it as my husband was followed around the shop by one of the shop employees as if he was a shoplifter, I couldn't believe it until we were more or less walked to the door, what a shame never been treat like this before or I would of happily spent my money to support local people
We enjoy visiting local artist co-ops when we travel. Fabrication became one of my favorites when we visited today. There were many things I loved: charming, beautiful, practical, and whimsical!
Great shop for unique gifts from a wide variety of local artists - including sculptures, jewellery, art pieces etc. One of my favourite shops in york - I find a lovely gift every time :)
