Field & Fawcett

My fiancé and I came to Field & Fawcett last week to pick the wines for our wedding and had an absolutely great time. Peter gave us a tremendous tasting and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We bought some lunch from the shop (a really excellent pork pie and potato salad), and took some lovely local gin away too. Couldn't recommend Field & Fawcett more!

Deli, beers, ciders, wines and a cafe! First time we have come across this place and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We plan to be back. Accessibility - part of the car park is close to the entrance, a bit muddy in places. Entrance, manual door, level entrance. Moderately wide aisles. Toilet for disabled via a corridor, 90 degree left turn. Car Park - free, near the entrance, not marked out, overflow further on. Cafe - breakfasts (from 8am), lunch up to 3pm, then drinks and cakes. Booking for lunch advised. Pricing - medium to expensive depending on what you buy, quality items. Staff - friendly and helpful. Toilet - men's, ladies and toilet for disabled with baby change through the store near the cafe.

Ordered (an obscure) wine on Thursday evening, the bottles were delivered Saturday morning safe and sound. Excellent service.

Great selection of wines and spirits (probably hard pushed to find a better choice in York) Prices can be a bit steep, but you get what you pay for Perfect place to buy something for a special occasion, I picked up some of the nicest wine I've ever had for Christmas this last year. They also have a well stocked deli counter for meat & cheeses

Good selection of wines the only place to get some of the best whisky, the cafe is lovely and would recommend a look , but can get busy at lunchtime , so maybe a good idea to book .
