Hooting Owl Distillery York

Dropped in a little bit to try their cocktail. It was great. I also love the design of the place and their consistency. Overall it was a cozy place to stay and relax, and I would definitely recommend. If I went there again I’m going to try their unmixed gin.

This was one of the best distillery tours and tastings that I’ve ever done. Not only did we get to sample six different gins, we were also provided a welcome drink and another drink after the tour and tasting were over as well as receiving a gin goblet personalized with each of our names. Tom did an amazing job of providing us with all of the information of how their products are distilled and the fact that they put so much care and extra effort into providing a quality product. The gin tasting itself was incredible. You can taste the true quality of their product and Tom did a great job sharing the different botanicals that go into the different gins as well as fun anecdotes about each gin and the history of the distillery itself. If you are in York and you genuinely enjoy gin or you’re interested in discovering gin, I highly recommend this tour.

The Hooting Owl Distillery is a fantastic place to visit. We did the distillery tour and tasting which was a brilliant experience, all the more so for Tom who made it a truly memorable time. Would highly recommend booking the tour to anyone who loves gin.

Second time to enjoy the gin tasting tour with Super Star Tom and fourth time to enjoy their lounge area. It is the perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy a proper gin libation. They keep things fresh by featuring new products (including vodka and rum!) and feature creative cocktails on the regular. The open, cozy/comfy seating without loud music makes it a great place to catch up with friends or unwind from the day. The design is funky fun and eclectic but all with subtle hints at their products various mascots and stories behind their creation. The owner has really set the bar with this Gin Joint!! I want to give Tom his own whopping 5 star review. He really knows their product(s) well, is genuine, funny, and paints their Yorkshire Series Gins with such vibrancy that you can almost taste the differences before you actually taste them! We really enjoyed the story of how each region lends their own distinct attributes to their designated gin. The personalized glasses are an incredible touch!! They even wrapped them so they could make it safely home on the plane. This Seattle gal is a Fan!! So thankful I discovered this place.

What a fabulous place. 😍 Beautiful decor. Loads of gins💜 Aspalls cider, only one of three in York that's sells decent cider. 😄 Toilets amazingly beautiful. ☺️ Thank you.
