Loake Shoemakers

I visited this shop on a Saturday afternoon October 2025. Alex was very pleasant and helpful displaying expert knowledge to aid my choices and I was guided through Loake's new loyalty scheme with ease. A great experience with time freely given and I left with some accessories and two pairs of shoes assured both were the right style and shape for me.

I went in with my dad and brother and left with more pairs than we intended! Quality products have that effect. Alex was so helpful and patient with us and went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience and fit. His advice on shoe care for a novice like me was appreciated too. Will return when these shoes wear out, that could be a while though.

I visited the Loake store in York on 28th June 2025 and was served by John, who provided an outstanding customer experience. He was incredibly attentive, helpful, and clearly very knowledgeable. His professionalism and care made the visit a real pleasure — a credit to the brand.

We visited this shop yesterday. The staff member in attendance was rude, simply not interested in serving us. There was no-one else in the shop. My son was visiting from the US, he always wears Loake as they fit his feet. We'll go to Cambridge instead.

I went here to access their free boot/ shoe stretching service. I simply cannot fault the service I received which extended to recommendations beyond the stretching. If you buy loakes boots or shoes you will not be disappointed. 10/10
