The shoes I got were the minimalist of wide toe box shoe. I took measurements exactly as instructed on the video and sent them to Mr. Donnelly. Prior to purchasing I asked if there's any fitment issues once the shoes are received, what the procedure is. I received my shoes after 6 weeks which is the expected lead time, however, when I got the shoes there was nearly 3 cm from the tip of my toe to the tip of the shoe. It affected my gait and specifically the toe off portion of gait. The leather the leather itself seems to be of high quality as is the build. These are nice shoes but just weren't for me. I was able to return them and get a refund. Only downside is return shipping was nearly half the cost of the shoe.

I’ve been looking for high quality zero-drop dress shoes with wide toe-box for a while. I came across The Last Shoemaker and decided to try them out. I have to say, their quality and craftsmanship are outstanding! The shoes are truly beautiful – hand-stitched invisible channel (with good stich density) combined with a neat heel base makes an elegant silhouette despite having a wider than normal toe-box. The burnished brown color adds a touch of character to the shoes (as seen in the photos). I highly recommend them, and I’ll be ordering more from them!

I’ve been a repeat customer of the Don for many years. This company is the real deal. First, the shoes are high-quality, **handmade** work. And if you spend any time on his site, you’ll discover that the prices are extremely reasonable. I personally think they’re too cheap. Second, if you’re looking for an elevator shoe, Don’s are the gold standard. Other sites will sell you generic shoes that fit poorly, are uncomfortable to walk in, and are clearly elevator shoes by the look of them. Dons, by contrast, are custom-fitted to your foot, super comfortable (I’ve taken 2-hour walks in them), and very discrete in terms of appearance. Give these a try. Seriously.

Mr Payson's work was simply superb. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality of his work and would recommend him highly and unequivocally to anyone looking for outstanding, well crafted bespoke shoes.

Trying to find a true, quality dress shoe, that is also minimalist has been impossible for me til now. The Stamford's I purchased are beautiful, comfortable, and incredible quality. I will be ordering another shoe soon and look forward to making it to trunk show in the future.
