Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland

Free to visit anytime of day, lovely views down towards Piercebridge, you can see for miles from what's left of the medieval x

We went today and were pretty impressed. Was refreshing to find a santa's grotto to take our 4 boys to that doesn't cost the best part of £150-£200! We've done those sort of ones the last few years but the prices are getting absolutely ridiculous and I'm tired of getting ripped off at an already really expensive time of year. For £7 per child the grotto here was excellent! Only a short sort of 5 minutes or so but how much longer do you need?? It was just as magical and festive as any of the others we've paid through the nose for. They've gone to a lot of effort with the decoration and set up. So many lit trees and little photo ops. Presents were also really good for the price. Also thought the grotto photos weren't too badly priced. Didn't do the ice skating, as a family of 6 it would have been a little bit pricey but we weren't overly fussed. Chalet cafe was lovely aswell. Fair rides bit pricey but just the norm compared to other fairs we've been to. Everything gets pricey for us with 4! Overall very good and would definitely go back. We went early Friday afternoon though. Not sure if I'd have enjoyed it as much in weekend crowds/ traffic etc.

Great festive experience. We visit every year and the decorations are very festive and enjoyable to walk around. Lots of cool photo opportunities. Ice skating is a great size rink, always well organised and looked after. Great to grab food and a hot drink after or a stroll around the shops!

I took my son Ice skating today for the first time ever on his seventh birthday. He had an absolute ball of a time on the ice and it was made so much more welcoming and supported by the Marshall on the ice called Emma! She gave my son some great tips and encouragement on how to stay upright and by the end of the session he was confidently skating around the rink. The staff at winter wonderland was all wonderful and made my sons first experience on the ice one to remember. Thank you to all who was working this afternoon! 🥰

I think that they've got this event spot on. Really nice festive walk through, lighting and music very good, popular ice rink (real ice), stalls offer selections of different gifts and the rides were superb. Obviously, Father Christmas is there as well. Free parking and having the Outlet next door is a bonus as well.
