Pure Collection

Description

Our cashmere is sourced from Inner Mongolia, home of the very finest cashmere. Cashmere is only harvested from goats in very cold climates. In Inner Mongolia temperatures plummet to minus 30 degrees and winters are seven months long.

We have always specified the very finest, very longest, the very whitest premium grade cashmere, which will never change. This is defined as Inner Mongolian White for White, 36-38mm in length, 15.5 micron maximum, with 0.2% maximum coarse hair content, used to create the standard 12 gauge Pure Collection.

Due to our uncompromising quality standard, it takes the fibre of approximately eight goats to make one Pure Collection sweater, whilst lesser quality cashmere might only take the fibre of around four goats to make the same garment.

We have nurtured relationships from the very beginning. At Pure Collection we work directly with goat herders, all of whom own their own herds of goats and live in controlled areas in Inner Mongolia.

Our cashmere is dyed before being spun into yarn to ensure a colour vibrancy that can’t be achieved by dying yarn or whole garments.

We are proud of the fact that since April 2008, every 100% cashmere garment that bears our label has been produced using cashmere acquired from sustainable sources.
