Tesco Express

Last Friday, 12th September, myself 65 and my Grandson Josh 14, had our first ever weekend away in York. Josh had a major operation on his groin last year, and both of us being Viking fans saved every penny we could for this special time together. After 5 hours of travelling, we left our belongings at the hotel, and ubered into town for an Indian meal. After a beautiful meal, we called into this Tesco express, for drinks and goodies for our room. We self checked out and called an Uber. Uber came and we are halfway back to the hotel, I ask Josh to pass my bag. He tells me it's not there! Panic sets in, I am feeling everywhere....my bag is not there! I feel sick, I am going to pass out! Everything is in that bag. Money, purse, phone, cards, hotel keys, train tickets! Everything! I ask the driver to take us back. I am hyperventilating, the driver is panicking. We pull up outside, Josh comes in with me. A member of staff is shelf filling, I ask if a bag had been handed in. A voice shouted yes! We went to the counter, I described my bag, and this wonderful lady hands me it. You have no idea, not one single clue what this meant to us. Some wonderful, special, person, handed it in. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Josh does too. We had the most amazing weekend. Tesco express, you should know what wonderful, honest, and amazing staff you have there. I cant thank you enough. Thank you. X

Second time in the place: moved to York two weeks ago. Truth: this shop is ruined by the present workers of whom are rude. As someone who uses the workers checkout if I (prefer) to pay cash as some people just do sometimes, i'm both times now treated (not greeted) with an attitude. As a former worker of these types of customer-service jobs years back when, this is not acceptable at all. 'If you hate your job, QUIT. don't take your life out on the person wanting to walk in and go about their day.'

Great store in City Centre although the checkouts were wet and not clean at the staffed checkout in the place where we had to put our items and not a pleasent smell with a homeless dude at the next checkout although I know that probably can't be helped due to the cruel world we live in where the Gov./Councils should provide everyone a place to keep warm and shower like they do with refugees etc.
