Monk Bar Model Shop

Great selection of models, reasonably priced kits and pre-built model trains and aircraft. Gratefully, this model shop does not mind children and teens coming into the store, unlike many model shops in wales with stereotypes about children and teens, who refuse outright to allow teens and children in. Us teens contribute much to money made by these shops, and so I'm glad to see that this shop allows it.

A fantastic hobby shop right in the heart of York! Monk Bar Model Shop has one of the best selections I’ve seen for British model railways, especially in N scale. The store is well stocked from locomotives to scenery, with shelves full of detail parts, structures, road accessories, and realistic terrain materials that make it easy to bring a layout to life. The staff really know their stuff and are always happy to offer advice or help find specific British road or railway items. You can tell they’re enthusiasts themselves — it’s not just a store, it’s a place where you can talk modelling with people who understand the craft.

Finally dusted off my train set and looking to start back into the hobby. Visited this shop. So much to see, so much inspiration, the shop staff very knowledgable and so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff and great variety of stock. A helpful chap fixed my son’s model railway train, which really saved his birthday! We’re lucky to have this in York. Keep up the great work
