Ashbourne House

We have just returned from a two night stay at this wonderful hotel. Our 3rd time staying and now definitely our ‘go to’ when visiting York. This time we had a fabulous king size room which had everything we needed - and more! Beautifully presented, so comfortable and scrupulously clean. Breakfast and overall service was faultless, and as always Fiona was a fabulous host, so friendly and helpful! Thank you so much. Already looking forward to visiting again! Jackie and John

Our two night stay was extremely comfortable. The room was well equipped and spotless.clean. The breakfasts were excellent. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again and fully recommend it. If we did plan to stay on other occasions, we would need to book a room on a lower floor. As guests in their mid eighties, we found the stairs up to the third floor difficult. Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay.

This is a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect just 25 min walk into York centre. The room was really lovely. We loved the superking bed. It was very comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. Loved the finishing touches such as toilet room spray and a dedicated area for doing your hair and make up. The ceiling fan was a good touch as well and a remote control to control lights and fan from anywhere in the room. There was a large tv in the room with Netflix and Amazon prime and lots of other channels. We just couldn’t fault it. The service was excellent and the breakfast was very nice too. We would definitely recommend Ashbourne House to anyone. We give this bed and breakfast 5 stars and I’m sure we will be visiting again

A lovely guest house with excellent hosts, nothing too much trouble. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, generous and tasty. Local produce used. Nice thoughtful touches like haribo and chocolates on landings. Can walk into centre of York by the river path or catch a frequent bus from outside the guesthouse. Excellent

Ashbourne house is a great place. It is situated 1 mile from the center of York (pleasant walk along the river or bus stop a few steps away). We spent 2 nights there in a very cosy, warm, quiet and impeccably clean room. A lot of attention has been made to details to make your stay enjoyable. The host is very welcoming and gave us useful information as we arrived. We would definitely recommend this property.
