The Farthings Guest House

We enjoyed everything about our experience at Farthings. It felt like a home away from home. From the lovely furniture in the house to the cosy bed overlooking the rain - it was not only whimsical but also nostalgic. The host was very welcoming and attentive with every step of our stay. We also ate breakfast that we highly recommend - it was a great way to finish our trip in York. Thank you so much Farthings and look forward to our next stay (hopefully soon)!

The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is exceptional, supplemented by lovely hosting. The fly in the ointment for many travellers is the shared bathrooms. Given the age and layout of the building I see that there is precious little that can realistically be done about this but it remains an issue, potentially more so for female guests. Otherwise this quaint guesthouse is very highly recommended.

Really nice room and staff very friendly. Had to inform the property ahead that I was arriving by car. Hotel is not far out of city walls and even has a few bars and restaurants within a few mins walk.

Lovely comfy room; we had a twin. Really friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you, great little breakfast in the morning and nice location.

Fantastic guest house with great hosts, great building, great location, fantastic breakfast as well. What more could you ask for? Definitely recommend
