Located just 20 minutes' walk from York Minster, The Dairy is a converted town dairy set in a restored and upgraded Victorian townhouse with many original features. It is 15 minutes' walk from the Shambles. Each individually styled room has a TV with a DVD player, hot drink facilities, mineral water, a hairdryer and an alarm clock. You will also find toiletries in the rooms. Every morning, guests will enjoy a traditional English breakfast with locally sourced produce, York bacon and sausages, free range eggs and York honey. A lighter option with cereals and yogurt is also available. Local attractions include York Racecourse, 2.4 km away, while the National Railway Museum is 1.8 km away. Fulford Golf Club is 3.2 km away and York Railway Station is 1 km away. This is our guests' favorite part of York, according to independent reviews. We have just returned from our stay here, absolutely loved it. Room was modern and clean. Breakfast ran smooth the ticking your options day before was a great idea and the poached eggs from Mike where next level!!! Didn't want them to end. We would deffo return can't fault the place
Quaint and charming, our stay at the bed and breakfast just outside of York's city walls was delightful. The cozy atmosphere welcomed us as soon as we stepped through the door. Our room was beautifully decorated and offered a comfortable night's rest after a day of exploring the city. The breakfast spread in the morning was delicious, with a variety of options to suit every taste. The friendly staff made us feel right at home and provided helpful tips for navigating the area. Only a 10 minute walk to the city it felt part of the city without having to pay the extra for the pleasure! We enjoyed an early morning walk along the wall one one morning before breakfast and really made the most of the stay here. Overall, a lovely experience that added to our visit to York.
We have just returned from York and spent a lovely time there. We stayed at The Dairy Guest House and had such a wonderful time stay there. Mike could not do enough to welcome you and look after us. Lovely place to stay for York city access. Slightly disappointing shower in the room. The 4 poster bed mattress really needs to be looked at as there is a central lump that forces you to the side of the bed....also, but not critical, not easy to place the TV where a post doesn't affect the viewing....
Came across this lovely guest house whilst looking on Google Maps for a place to stay for 2 nights in York. Managed to get the last available room. Mike is an excellent host, very friendly & welcoming. Mike provided a guide to York, local attractions & restaurant recommendations. The room we had was lovely, with the entrance via the courtyard. Nice comfy beds & wetroom style shower. The breakfast was excellent, both traditional & vegan options. Good selection of fruit juices & coffee etc provided. The location is a 5 minute walk to the York Wall, 6 minute walk to the river with some lovely shops locally. Would definitely seek to stay there again if back in York. Parking permit supplied by Guest House
