Friars Rest Guest House

Absolutely loved this place, the host is incredibly friendly, room was very clean and we managed to get the front ground floor room where we got to open the curtains up to the greenery outside and blue skies. The shambles is only a 15 min walk away, takeaway literally a minute walk and loads of other places to visit are easily within a 30 min walk. I don’t think we had to walk more than 20 minutes from anywhere and we were back! Parking is also available and there is easy access in and out of the rooms, no matter the time of day. Very secure places as well so felt very safe staying here. Thank you so much!

Steve, the owner is top notch! His friendliness and service minded are beyond expectation. The location is perfect! 10 mins to city center (nicer walk along the river) The room is spotless and the bed is comfortable. Enough power outlet! Cute guest house in quiet area. The only one down side is that there is an ongoing construction next door which starts at 08:00 in the morning. If you are light sleepers or looking forward to late waking up, this might affect your sleep. We booked 2 nights but had to cancel one night due to noise. (We both are light sleepers) Steve was super kind to handle this regard super professionally. I highly recommend this guest house if you are expecting great service and clean room for your stay! Would love to try again next time.
