Hedley House Hotel

From the cheery greeting at the reception desk to our have a safe drive home the staff here were friendly and very helpful. The lady on the desk at our check in helped bring in our luggage and went with my daughter to show her to the car park. Our room was a triple family room on the ground floor which had a double and a single bed along with a sofa and a small chair. It was clean and comfortable with added essentials of a small heater and a small fan, iron and ironing board. I rarely sleep well due to my medical condition but my first night I slept through. The mattress and pillows on the single bed were perfect. I even joked with the receptionist that I might put them 8n the boot of the car to take home. Breakfast was a buffet light one where the sourdough bread proved most popular and the poached eggs cooked to perfection. The only little thing about breakfast was that my daughter would have loved a little sweet something like a mini muffin or croissant. We both had booked with the in house masseuse who was a lovely friendly lady whose hands were a wonder. I practically floated back to the room afterwards. On the Saturday night we took advantage of the jacuzzi and for over an hour we enjoyed bubbles and wine and just relaxed. Another great nights sleep and yummy breakfast and it was time to checkout. Again the staff were very helpful and said to book direct next time to get parking included. If you are looking for somewhere to stay just a short walk from town centre with the most friendly people looking after you and comfortable beds then this place so for you. We went as a mother , daughter looking for rest and relaxation with added onsite facilities and we were not disappointed.

Excellent from the first email to enquire about booking all the way through to arriving and throughout our 2 night stay. What a team this hotel has, Mandy and Colleen were superb and the Chef on New Years Eve was fabulous with superb meals throughout our stay. The service staff were also fabulous and friendly too. All areas from reception, bar area, dining room, breakfast room and the hotel rooms were immaculate, quality in decoration, plenty of provisions in the hotel room, ranging from drinks, hairdryer, kettle and the toiletries and shower body washes were top quality. The Jacuzzi area and facilities looked amazing - next times we visit we will bring our swimwear to take advantage of that facility. The location of the Hotel is perfect, if you drive the car park is an added bonus, and even if you travel by rail - the railway station is only a short 10 minute walk away. The walk into York centre takes the same time walking being 10 minutes and it is a lovely walk close to the Minster and centre of York. I must repeat myself is sitting that the whole experience at Hedley House Hotel was stunning and the cleanliness and quality throughout the building and all the staff was brilliant, we will return and I cannot recommend this Hotel enough to anyone.

We had a fantastic overnight stay and would highly recommend it. The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable with quality toiletries and soft towels. The room decor might look a little dated but this is the only thing about this hotel that I would suggest could be improved. The hotel looks unassuming and understated from the outside but is a real gem, from the location, the daily yoga classes to the garden area, hot tub and wellness treatments as well as the off road parking. The staff were just lovely, helpful and friendly. The common areas were smart, welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast menu was varied, made to order and a choice to suit everyone. The location is perfect for walking into town - less than ten minutes and was easy to access by car. I can completely understand why guests return here. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

We have just had our 2nd stay at Hedley House Hotel and will undoubtedly be returning again. The staff are all very friendly and will do whatever they can to accommodate you. The rooms are very clean and well equipped and the location of the hotel is perfect for York city centre, being only a leisurely 10 minute walk. There is a good choice of tasty breakfast options available. We had the Full English Breakfast which set us up for the day perfectly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to couples and families alike.

Lovely relaxing weekend stay, couldn't fault anything. Staff friendly & attentive, room was excellent & very clean with a big comfy bed. Little extras such as high quality toiletries & facial products were fab. Breakfast was excellent value & tasty. Highly recommended if you are looking for a break away in the charming city of York.
