|Three local causes in Dewsbury have been chosen to take part in Tenpin's exciting new Community Support Scheme. This initiative, which is a first for the entertainment venue, allows the local community to vote for their favourite cause to receive a £1,000 cash donation. The voting period runs from Monday, 3rd August to Friday, 11th September, giving everyone a chance to make a difference.
Community Support Scheme Overview
The Community Support Scheme was launched in July to recognise the hard work of organisations and volunteers who are making a positive impact in Dewsbury and its surrounding areas. The aim is to support a variety of groups, from grassroots sports clubs to charities and volunteer projects. After a two-week nomination phase, three worthy causes have emerged as finalists based on community votes.
Meet the Finalists
The following three organisations received the most nominations and will be vying for the £1,000 donation:
Dewsbury Cares Community Group: This group offers practical support and compassion to individuals facing various challenges. Their work focuses on improving wellbeing, building confidence, and helping people regain their independence. They particularly aim to assist those who are isolated, making a significant impact on local families and the wider community.
Ossett Trinity Tigers: An amateur Rugby League team based in Ossett, the Ossett Trinity Tigers caters to players of all ages. The club is currently fundraising for an extension to their clubhouse, which will support their growing number of players, volunteers, and supporters.
The Moonlight Trust: This organisation provides crucial support to underserved groups, including victims of domestic abuse, refugees, disabled individuals, and children living in extreme poverty. With over 10,000 local people helped, 90% of their efforts are powered by dedicated volunteers.
How to Vote
Voting is simple and encourages community involvement. Visitors to Tenpin Dewsbury can collect a token upon arrival and use it to vote for their preferred cause. Special ballot boxes are set up inside the centre for this purpose. The organisation that collects the most tokens by the end of the voting period will receive the donation to further their community initiatives.

Marc Couget, the Regional Manager at Tenpin Dewsbury, expressed gratitude towards the community for their nominations.
“We’re so grateful to every single person who sent a nomination. All of the nominations were worthy causes, but the lucky three with the most nominations will now be available inside Tenpin to vote for over the next six weeks. We encourage people from the local community to join in on the voting to make sure a great local cause receives a wonderful funding donation.”
