|Leeds United Football Club has unveiled a stunning transformation of its facilities, thanks to the hard work of Yorkshire-based interior design company, Design Tonic. This ambitious project has been completed just in time for the start of the new Premier League season, enhancing hospitality, corporate, and player areas at both Elland Road and the club's Thorp Arch training ground.
Design Tonic's Role
Design Tonic, a well-known name in interior design and fit-out projects, has been a trusted partner of Leeds United for seven years. Their latest work includes around 30,000 square feet of new and refurbished space, highlighting the club's commitment to providing a high-quality experience for fans, players, and staff alike. The transformation has occurred primarily during the closed season, which is a crucial time for football clubs to make changes and improvements.

One of the standout features of this transformation is the introduction of a temporary hospitality marquee at Elland Road, covering 20,000 square feet. This impressive structure has been designed to accommodate approximately 1,000 guests and includes four individual hospitality suites. Even though it is a temporary solution while the West Stand undergoes redevelopment, the interior design aims to deliver a premium experience that reflects the quality associated with Leeds United's permanent hospitality spaces. Other significant upgrades at Elland Road include:
The Presidents Lounge: This area has been transformed from a back-of-house space into a stylish hospitality environment.
Chairman’s Guest Lounge: A new lounge designed for special guests.
Refurbished Reception and Boardroom: These essential areas have been updated to provide a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff.
Each of these spaces aligns with Leeds United's established visual identity, ensuring that they feel distinctly connected to the club's brand and heritage.
Improvements at Thorp Arch
The transformation isn't limited to Elland Road. Design Tonic has also worked on enhancements at the club's Thorp Arch training ground, where facilities for players and Academy staff have seen significant improvements. The upgrades include:
A new Academy canteen.
A newly designed boot room.
Refurbishments to the players’ canteen.
These improvements not only enhance the environment for players but also support the club's ambitions for development on and off the pitch.
Expertise and Vision
Mark Broadley, Head of IT and Facilities at Leeds United, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership:
“Design Tonic has become a trusted partner to Leeds United. They understand both the operational requirements of a football club and the importance of ensuring every environment feels unmistakably Leeds United.”
He emphasised the importance of these improvements in maintaining the high-quality experience that hospitality guests expect.
Amanda Cook, co-founder of Design Tonic, shared her pride in the project:
“Our relationship with Leeds United has developed over seven years, so we have a strong understanding of the club, its brand and the expectations of its guests, players and staff.”
She highlighted the team's dedication in delivering such a significant programme of works in a short timeframe.
Expanding facilities
As Leeds United prepares for the new season, these upgrades aim to create a consistent quality across its hospitality offerings. The club's ongoing development plans for Elland Road, including the new West Stand, are set to further enhance the experience for fans and visitors.
