The Spa At Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel

We got there in time for check In however were asked to wait as the room was not ready!! How can that be at 3:30 in the afternoon? Room was nice once we got one but after a while I noticed a few cob webs and dead spiders in the corners of the ceiling! Nothing major just point they may want to take on and clean. Bar was void of atmosphere. No music and a very awkward silence which is Wierd and just the back ground noise of the refrigerators! Overpriced too. Charged £11 for a pint of Stella and orange and lemonade! When I challenged them is was apparently and error and was reduced to £9.95! Still very expensive. Breakfast was nice but the music was bit much for 7:30am - should have been like that in the bar. The grounds were lovely but that's to be expected due to the golf course. Pool was busy with kids but that was fine. Pretty busy and robes were not available for guests after a certain time. There was a drunk woman there making a nuisance and that was not dealt with by the staff which should have been dealt with. Showers and changing rooms were OK in size but very dirty with waste water and pubes on floor - that was disgusting! So I think this is in reality a 3 star venue.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. Very expensive so you would expect a premium service. I found on my visit the bar was busy with not effective staff numbers. The breakfast was poor. The staff didn't show you to a table or explain the procedure and where to find the buffet etc... The food was self service with poor ingredients the bacon and sausage not of the quality I would have expected. I have stopped at hotels for much less in equally great settings and found the food to be better. To make this better I would have liked cutlery at the table. I asked on entering but nothing was provided. I eventually had to approach staff again and was handed some without apology. I went with others and they experienced the same issue. I give this place 2 stars due to the location and room being good size with bed being comfortable.

Been before three times now with my mum and we love it! Staff are friendly, afternoon teas are wonderful and we love the treatments. We love going to here and we have recommended this place to all our friends and family

Aldwark Manor is next to a lush Golf course it is a delightful venue very well run, the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful the food is sumptuous and the wine list has a few nice surprises, we attended a Wedding of an Army Officer, and during the drinks reception The Chris White Jazz Trio played adding a touch of class
