Using a selection of excellent local suppliers and cooking everything to order, our food reflects quality & passion with a large selection. Our starters include homemade chicken liver paté, with homemade chutney, fresh surf clarez with devilled Provenˆale sauce & Parmesan shavings, local black pudding on mustard mash with cumberland sauce and the all time classic prawn cocktail.
Our main courses range from the classic steak and Guinness pie and beef Wellington to an array of fresh local fish dishes.
Our menu changes daily and reflects the seasons; fresh fish and local game are usually available.
We are next to the small railway station which is part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and within easy acess of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Pickering. York is only an hour away.
The Postgate Inn offers a restaurant, bar and 3 comfortable ensuite rooms; families and pets are welcome. There is a pleasant beer garden in which to relax and enjoy the sunshine and scenery and there is also a car park.
