Asda Barnsley Superstore

I regularly shop here and prefer this Asda to Huddersfield. In my opinion the stock is better here for one. Another good reason is Barnsley has far less and better organised traffic lights. I can get there and back much more quickly and it's about the same distance. I'm disappointed with bakery bread in Asda. It's par bake and you can really tell. Also the staff selling it didn't appear to get that it's par bake, telling me it was baked freshly this morning from frozen. Exactly, from frozen. Sorry, it's not the same. I can buy freshly baked from a local bakery about the same price.

If I could give zero stars I would. Never order anything offline from this store, always items missing, tags on bottles broken items dirty items. I've ordered 3 times on express and never received and then tried again and still again late with no message as to why. AVOID.

Self Service NO THANKS!!! More cash out tills attended by your wonderful staff please. Get rid of the awful self service tills. Customers in the main do not want to take the jobs off workers, plus we don't work there, it's not my job to check out my own items..

Absolutely disgraceful that your shop closes at 10pm but your member of staff would not let me in a 2151 to run in & get 1 item- if your hours of business are stated to end at 10pm then that is the time your doors should close to customers. Never-ending I went to Morrisons up the road, entered at 2155 and managed to get my item- very pleasant staff and much better customer service.

First they started removing till workers so people would use the self service because of the long queues. Next they started putting in cameras in the self service taking your picture and no doubt collecting all the data. Next they installed facial recognition...more data capture. Then they started putting things behind glass... Now recently, they refused pain killers to a half deaf, half blind lady who suffers pain because they remembered her asking for them another time...months ago! Also, do ASDA think we are Stupid?, we know you are putting back best before dates, I have lost several pieces of meat before the best before date, this never happened before covid times! This is the last resort, they have lost me as a customer for LIFE! How dare they treat the customer like they are doing them a favour!, there are plenty of other options than supermarkets and thats where people should go and not support these insidious data collection agencies any more.
