The Rose & Crown, Nawton

Just arrived in the area, and the pub looked inviting. Made to feel very welcome by the staff. Ended staying for a meal. Had Heather’s homemade pie, that was delicious . Thursday is Pie Night and well worth going. Maggie our Rottie was made most welcome and water was provided for her. Went back for drinks several times. Great atmosphere and great locals who were very friendly and chatty too.

This is my local so I have to declare a bias. Lovely local pub with active bar, good food (Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch) and a totally can do attitude. Lovely friendly staff. Heather’s shortcrust pastry pies are amazing with game and venison pie in season. Sunday lunch carvery is not to be missed and the sticky toffee pudding too but won’t be manageable after the Sunday lunch!

Had a lovely meal at the Rose and Crown. Really top quality in flavour and presentation. Overall excellent service after a shakey start but that was down to the young girl who took our drink order being overwhelmed by the volume of customers...otherwise a great evening with excellent food and a pleasent welcoming landlord! Lovely Sunday carvery , good that they accommodate portion sizes! Small, regular and large with a good choice of 3 meals and a delicious dessert menu as well!

Visited here by chance (due to local Indian restaurant requiring cash only payment). Staff excellent and food portion and quality top drawer. As said here by accident but will not be last time we visit 👍
