Mixed review for this cafe. The food itself was very good; fresh and good quality, However, the tea was served cold, which was disappointing. The tables also took a long time to be cleaned, and the staff in the café came across as quite cold and disinterested. This was in contrast to the staff in the clothing department, who were helpful, warm, and courteous. Overall, great food but let down by the service and cold tea.

This is typical M&S at Christmas. But it is fairly the same throughout the year. The food section is worth visiting. The rest of the departments offer a variety of clothing, beauty and fashion accessories, perfumes, creams, lotions, leather gloves, and other quality stuff. Prices are higher than say Primark but the quality is generally high. M&S does not do cheap.

As a regular paying customer, I was extremely disappointed and upset by the way I was treated on the shop floor. Jack was rude, sarcastic, and unprofessional throughout our interaction. When I politely asked if I could speak to someone senior to him, he mockingly stated that he was the CEO of Marks & Spencer, which I found completely inappropriate and disrespectful. I then politely asked whether I could have a reduced meat joint while reductions were being put out. Jack responded rudely, telling me “no, you will wait”, followed by “how dare you ask me when I am putting them out.” He continued to act sarcastically, shaking his head and repeatedly saying “Merry Christmas” in a mocking manner. When I attempted to address his behaviour calmly, he walked away from me repeatedly, refusing to engage, all of which took place on the shop floor in front of other customers. This was embarrassing and unacceptable. Additionally, Jack brought two members of staff over and stated that desserts had already been sold and that customers were wasting their time waiting. He then accused paying customers of assaulting staff, an allegation I do not believe for one second and which felt completely inappropriate and inflammatory. This level of behaviour is unacceptable from any staff member, let alone a manager. The lack of professionalism, respect, and basic customer service shown was shocking—especially at Christmas. I do not expect to be treated with such disrespect, sarcasm, or dismissiveness as a loyal customer, and I will be taking this matter further. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and investigated accordingly.

Used the food section where everything is laid out so nicely, the fruit is fresh and delicious, the meat is fresh, plump and well packaged. The bread is soft and gorgeous smelling. No faults anywhere.

Was early for my bra fitting appointment so decided to pop to the cafe for a quick cups. Stood in a queue for over 1/2 hr, placed my order and went to find a table - surprise! There were plenty of empty tables so why the wait. I suspect it was because they were short staffed. Only a couple of staff behind the counter and another couple deliver in orders. Staff were polite but clearly overstretched.young boy clearing tables did a fantastic job.had to ask for a clean cup as the one brought was dirty. Don’t think I’ll be visiting again. M&S used to be so easy to navigate , trousers all in one area, blouses all together etc, now you have to wander the whole store to try and find what you want - I gave up and left On a better note and definitely 5 star, the bra fitting service was superb, Vicky was very friendly and helpful and I left with 3 new bras that I’m very happy with.
