Kings Head by Marston's Inns

Where does one start. Upon arrival we were met by a most inattentive, gentlemen I believe to be called Andrew. He totally ignored us, certainly not the welcome a guest expects. Eventually not without a wait another member of staff arrived and, we were booked in and shown our room. Initially all seemed well. However it turns out the heating radiator didn't work. When asked we were told it didn't work properly but didn't matter as the room was warm anyway. That certainly wasn't a fact my partner agreed upon. And no alternative heating was possible. The rest of the faults were. Shower pipe broken, toilet flush handle needed repair. Carpets had huge rucks dangerous for tripping. Lack of sugar for coffee /, tea. Next morning I had cause to go to the car the floors downstairs were wet and very slippery. No heath and safety notices at all. Then we come to the breakfast. After a 40 min wait with cold coffee.. They eventually admitted that there was a fault with a pan.. To cook a egg. I ask you!! This is what we were told. My breakfast had been over cooked or left on a hot plate whilst waiting for my partners. With sausages that were hard enough sole a shoe. Only to find her avocado was brown and made her breakfast inedible. After a totally indifferent stay we were glad to leave. This place certainly needs new efficient management.

Lovely staff, room was furnished well but carpet disgusting as were certain parts of bathroom. Unfortunately not worth the high cost of the stay.

Good value for money, clean, great location, friendly young staff (although it seemed there was an absence of any senior management), excellent breakfast, access in and out of the hotel if staying out late eg for a wedding like us Recommended but better attention maybe required to differentiate room guests from ordinary punters, just to better the experience. Comfortable bed, impressive spacious walk in shower with timber / laminate flooring - liked that!

Staff very helpful, comfy bed, shower lovely and easy to use, nice towels, quiet after 11 and before that a lower noise from pub than I expected, room clean but pongy drain smell, staff provided an air freshener but definitely needs the planned refurbishment as looking a bit tired, need to tidy back yard as poor first impression when park, value for money as prebooked

We arrived friday for a 2 night stay for a wedding locally. From the minute we arrived the staff were amazing so friendly and just couldnt do enough for us. Our room was beautiful spotlessly clean too. Food friday night was amazing & breakfast both days was really nice. Thankyou so much everyone especially the two ladys who appeared to be managers fri & then sat/sun you are amazing at your job and have great staff
