We recently held our son’s 4th birthday party at this venue, and it was absolutely perfect. The large play gym—complete with slides, trampolines, and plenty of space to explore—kept the children entertained from start to finish. The staff were incredibly attentive, regularly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They even went above and beyond by preparing extra food during the party, something we’ve rarely experienced elsewhere. The food, the facilities, and especially the staff were all fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely consider hiring this venue again for future celebrations. Highly recommended!

Extremely disappointing birthday party experience We held my child’s birthday party at 5 Alive yesterday and the experience was very poor from start to finish. From arrival, the woman on reception was rude and unwelcoming. There were delays before the children could start playing — wristbands arrived around 10 minutes late and we then had to chase socks we had already paid for, which didn’t appear until about 15 minutes after arrival. We were placed at two small tables in a very busy room with no clear indication they were reserved for a party, so members of the public repeatedly sat with us. A couple of jugs of juice were left on the table and that was it. Despite being promised a party host, there were no check-ins, no organisation, and no support during the play time. An extra child arrived and I immediately went to reception to pay, however the receptionist was overheard making rude and condescending comments about needing to check if extra children had been paid for. The attitude was unnecessary and disrespectful. When it was time to move to the party room, someone simply shouted for us. There was no host, no music, no food laid out, and no atmosphere. The cake was brought in randomly with no warning and we were expected to start singing immediately. The food was extremely poor and very minimal. I was handed a knife and left to cut the cake and organise party bags myself, which should have been done by a party host. There were also serious safety concerns. A leaking roof tile near the trampoline area had not been blocked off and stagnant water was dripping, soaking my partner’s coat while he watched the children. This is unsafe in a children’s play centre. The play area is shabby and poorly maintained. Safety procedures were also concerning, including a back door being wedged open for staff smoking breaks, allowing access without going through reception. For the price paid, this was unacceptable. We recently attended a party at another venue Funzy which I highly recommend, where everything was organised and stress-free, highlighting just how poor this experience was. Many other reviews mention the same rude receptionist, suggesting this behaviour is ongoing and tolerated. Paying customers should not feel like an inconvenience.and as you can see from the business response below they would rather brandish anyone who calls out the rude behaviour as a liar. Take a look at reviews I’m not alone in this opinion. We will not be returning and would definitely not recommend 5 Alive for children’s parties. Dangerous, lack of professionalism and unorganised mess which they have nerve to charge £200 for. But after speaking to owner it’s clear why their staff struggle to crack a smile !

Lovely place for my toddler, crazy and fun. Has plenty of slides for my 2 year old to explore. Do wish they had a lift for prams/strollers - only stairs access through main entrance. Has a trampoline area for kids! Nice place for my little one to get their energy out

Fantastic play gym! I regularly take my 2 kids and they love the place. Staff are super friendly and polite and the manager does the absolute best to help ensure you have a fun time. 5* cannot recommend this place enough!
