Having not been for many years I was so surprised how quiet the restaurant was. In the past you would see people queuing to get in! Food was pleasant but nothing special, Bradford seems to have lost its way with curries. They are nothing like the curries of the ‘80s which have to be the best food I have ever tasted. Now they all taste the same. Service was very good and the waiter was very friendly indeed. The music was SO loud, Christmas songs on a loop! My friend and I couldn’t hear ourselves speak! I had prawns as I don’t eat halal meat. My friend had the same as she only eats halal meat at home and not in restaurants. We didn’t have starters ~ pickle tray, popadoms, two mains, two chapatis and one naan was £24 each. It was very draughty where we were sitting and not much atmosphere for a Friday evening.
The food is really great. Great service too. Mo was really helpful giving us great food suggestions since we are new to the restaurant. Chicken Nambali is all cheese- heaven for cheese lovers! Chicken Tikka and Seekh Kebabs were also tasty- had good flavours in them. And Dynamite Mushrooms- give it a try- it’s something different- you will surely like it! The Family naan was exciting 😄 Chicken charsi 👌🏽 And other items too were tasty. Overall great food and good service 👍🏼
Came to Akbars for New Year’s Eve, and despite how busy it was, the service and food were a solid 10/10. We were seated quickly with hardly any wait, and our food arrived in about 20 minutes. They definitely did not disappoint.
I had an amazing experience at Akbars! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and served fresh and hot. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal. A special mention to our server, Malek, who was outstanding from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect for us. His service really made the evening even better. Highly recommend Akbars, and if you get Malek as your server, you’re in for a great experience!
