Went with my husband, was awful. The tacos were nice but the main courses (autumn chicken) and (surf n turf steak) had no flavour, portions are tiny which you can accept as fine dining if the taste matched fine dining. That is not the case. The steak hadn't even been left to rest properly. There were sides with the chicken main but again they were seasoned with salt and pepper. I feel like a chef after visiting here so thats a positive😂. Chocolate fondant dessert was nice but sticky toffee pudding was basic and nothing special. Paid nearly £200 and they didn't even come and ask if we needed more water or drinks. Yet seemed shocked that I was unhappy with my visit. I said I wasn't happy and they said to come back and try it again. I laughed as that was a funny joke. Wouldn't ever go back. I also emailed them regarding this as i felt robbed but I was ignored.
Amazing 3 course roast dinner which I would highly recommend. Each dish was cooked to a high standard as well as the additional side of Mac & Cheese. Service was great. Will definitely be back.
Cona is an absolute gem for meat lovers. Their burgers and steaks are top-notch, with the beef freshly selected and cooked to the way you want. you can taste the quality in every bite. I love their Wednesday burger specials and the ever-changing daily menu, which keeps things exciting. I recently had their Sunday roast, and it was one of the best I’ve ever tried. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about your experience, checking in to make sure everything is perfect. Highly recommended!
Our Iftar at Cona was one of the best meals we had in a very long time. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed with the attention to detail in the decor and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The host was exceptional—taking the time to make sure everything was perfect, and it really set the tone for the entire experience. The food was top tier. Every dish was not only a delight to the taste buds but beautifully presented as well. You can tell the chefs put a lot of thought and care into every plate. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and each course was pure perfection. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure our every need was met without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to ensure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find such a high level of service these days, and it made the experience even more enjoyable. Our Iftar was served on time it truly felt like a special occasion. We will definitely be returning soon.
What exactly was fine dining about this? We went for Valentine’s Day, and everything was just okay, nothing special at all. The king prawn tempura was crispy, but the actual prawn lacked flavor. The beef tacos were the only thing I enjoyed out of everything we had. The dry-aged beef fillet steak was underwhelming and rubbery, with no flavour whatsoever. The veal had more flavour than the steak. The triple-cooked chips just tasted like normal chips, but the Japanese fries that came with the veal were nice. For dessert, we had sticky toffee pudding, which was quite hard and not particularly great. It was also an extremely tiny portion. We paid just over £200 for that, completely overpriced. The service wasn’t great either. I can’t understand how a restaurant can charge this much and still be so basic. I genuinely wanted to like this place, but it’s just hype. I’ve been to restaurants that charge half the price and are ten times better in both food quality and service.
