This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious organisation at a pivotal stage of its growth journey, working directly alongside the Managing Director and senior leadership team.</p> <p>The business operates across multiple revenue streams, including established retail supply channels, a rapidly expanding e-commerce offering, and a portfolio of recognised brands. With continued investment, growth plans, and acquisition activity on the horizon, this role offers genuine influence and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future direction of the business.</p> <p>This is far more than a traditional finance position. As the number one finance lead, you will take ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted commercial partner to the Managing Director, providing insight, challenge, and support to drive performance, profitability, and sustainable growth.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting.</li><li>Produce monthly management accounts, board reporting, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections.</li><li>Monitor financial performance, profitability, working capital, and overall business health.</li><li>Provide commercial analysis and insight across products, customers, contracts, and sales channels.</li><li>Partner closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making.</li><li>Support acquisition activity, due diligence, integration projects, and wider business growth initiatives.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.</li><li>Strengthen financial controls, processes, governance, and reporting frameworks.</li><li>Review existing systems and support the implementation of a modern cloud-based finance platform.</li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.</li><li>Manage relationships with auditors, banks, external advisors, and key stakeholders.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement across finance and wider business operations.</li></ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>We are keen to speak with commercially minded finance professionals who enjoy operating within dynamic, entrepreneurial businesses and are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.</p> <p>You will ideally have:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience operating as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Finance Business Partner within a fast-paced business environment.</li><li>Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge, influence, and support senior stakeholders.</li><li>Experience within SME, owner-led, growth-focused, or complex trading businesses.</li><li>Exposure to retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, consumer products, wholesale, distribution, or similar sectors would be advantageous.</li><li>A track record of improving financial reporting, controls, systems, and business processes.</li><li>Experience partnering with operational leaders and contributing to business strategy.</li><li>Strong leadership capability with experience developing teams and building relationships across the organisation.</li><li>Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).</li><li>A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Apply?</strong></p> <p>This is an opportunity to join a growing business where finance has a genuine seat at the table.
