Be a part of it.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Operative/Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>You’ll be working Part time (25 hrs per week with shifts to be agreed with successful candidate) at Cygnet Adarna House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Cygnet Adarna House is our rehabilitation service for men with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Supporting nine men, we provide a homely and community facing environment for individuals who are preparing for community life, but need further support to move to more independent living.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><b>Your day-to-day... </b></p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service</p> </li><li> <p>Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work </p> </li><li> <p>Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order </p> </li><li> <p>Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards </p> </li><li> <p>Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours</p> </li><li> <p>Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights</p> </li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><b>We are looking for people who have…</b></p> <ul> <li> <p>Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capaci<br />ty in recent years</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled at DIY & general maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience of repairing of various equipment and materials, painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry and basic wiring work.</p> </li><li> <p>A working knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence</p> </li><li> <p>Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information</p> </li><li> <p>Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude</p> </li><li> <p>Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.</p> </li></ul> <p><br /><b>Why Cygnet?
