Design Engineer FTC
<p><strong>Location:</strong>South Bradford<br /><strong>Rate:</strong> ~£35.00 per hour outside IR35<br /><strong>Contract:</strong> Initial 3-6 Month Contract (potential extension)<br /><strong>Start:</strong> ASAP</p> <strong>Contract Design Engineer</strong> <p>Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist engineering manufacturer to recruit a Contract Design Engineer for an immediate requirement.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer with strong Autodesk Inventor experience to support the delivery of large-scale engineered products used within critical infrastructure and industrial applications.</p> <p>Working closely with Engineering and Operations teams, you'll be responsible for producing detailed 3D models, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials for bespoke engineered-to-order products.</p> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>Produce detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor</li><li>Generate General Arrangement (GA) drawings for customer approval</li><li>Develop fabrication-ready manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)</li><li>Update designs throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating manufacturing feedback and design improvements</li><li>Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective</li><li>Support ongoing projects and development activities through technical input and design reviews</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, production efficiency, and material utilisation</li><li>Participate in project meetings and liaise with customers where required</li><li>Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and delivered to programme deadlines</li><li>Maintain compliance with company quality, safety and design standards</li></ul> <strong>Design Engineer Contractor Skillset</strong> <p>We are keen to speak with Design Engineers who have:</p> <ul> <li>Strong Autodesk Inventor and Vault experience</li><li>A proven background producing detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings</li><li>Experience working on large fabricated structures, heavy assemblies, industrial equipment, enclosures, machinery, process equipment, or similar engineered products</li><li>Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal, structural steel, and manufacturing processes</li><li>Experience creating fabrication drawings and Bills of Materials</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams</li><li>A practical and solutions-focused approach to design</li></ul> <strong>Contract Details</strong> <ul> <li>£35 per hour ballpark (negotiable) - outside IR35</li><li>Initial 3-6 month contract</li><li>Immediate start available</li><li>Opportunity to work on technically challenging, bespoke engineering projects</li><li>Potential for contract extension depending on project workload</li></ul> <p>This role would suit a Contract Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Inventor Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Design Draughtsperson, or Senior CAD Engineer with experience designing large fabricated and engineered products within a manufacturing environment.</p>
