SIP car park

This car park is close to my office but I no longer recommend using it. 3 weeks ago my car got broken into. The damage led to my vehicle being written off and a costly excess payment being made. The police investigated but there are no cameras. The following week in a hire car I tried to pay by card rather than the app. The machine gave the impression payment was taken, but upon checking my statement, it appears funds were not taken, so I’ve been sent a fine, along with a penalty charge by the hire company. Avoid this car park at all costs. Just use Broadway parking and pay a little extra.

I feel as though the few negative reviews that have been posted on this car park aren’t the best reflection of the majority of peoples experiences. At around 9:30am the car park is almost completely full on a daily basis. There may have been the odd incident where a car may have been broken into, but sadly the car that was broken into (VW Golf) is a hot target for car crime. I like the fact that you can pay for parking without having any cash and you can do it straight from your phone when you arrive, so even if you are in a rush, you can still pay for the parking whilst on the move.

Terrible Experience - Unfair Fine I parked in the car park and attempted to pay using the card machine multiple times, but it wasn’t working. I tried three or four times without success. Unfortunately, I stayed in the car park while trying to sort it out, only to receive a fine later. I contacted them, explaining the situation and asked them to review the CCTV footage, as they had already sent pictures of my car leaving the car park. Their response was unhelpful and dismissive, stating that I should have used another machine — which doesn’t even exist. Extremely disappointed with the lack of consideration and poor customer service. Beware if you’re parking here — even if the payment system fails, they’ll still hold you responsible.

I got my car broken in the George Street SIP car park in bright daylight on a working day. The car park has no CCTV cameras and accepts no responsibility. I will never park there again and no one should.

Avoid these car parks at all costs. I've just received a fine for something I've clearly paid for. From other reviews, the appeal process leaves much to be desired so I'm seriously considering paying the fine to avoid any hassle. In future though I'll walk an extra mile to avoid using them. They're cowboys! The car parks are badly maintained and magnets for crime. It takes them 3 weeks to clear the glass up from the windows that are smashed in car crimes. The only reason anybody might use them is that they are cheap, but they obviously make their money in other ways!!
