Dear Heaton Dental Pratice My mother Shafia Rashid has been seen by Dentist Adil Rafiq over the last few months culminating in new dentures at today’s appointment. At all times Adil has been very courteous, kind and a true professional .At each point during her tooth removal and installation of new dentures he would explain to her with care and dedication the manner in which he would operate, my mother is an 80 year old ,felt at ease primarily due to Adil’s empathy and mannerism. I was slightly sceptical after seeing all the negative reviews however I had a great experience with Dentist adil and the nurse with him. Both were professional and talked me through everything and made me feel at ease. 👍

Horrible. Been with the practice for years. We have experienced malpractice and negligence here. Receptionists seem to lack basic training on customer service, coming across rude and most of the time don’t know what’s going on with constant responses of “I don’t know” “oh one minute” “erm” a lot, followed by suddenly being placed on holds. They hardly answer the phone after constant ringing even when they have no other calls (this has happened to me many times & I’ve been there & seen them do this whilst they’re sitting talking amongst themselves and phone has been ringing). They also don’t get back to voicemails left. Deliberate call dodging, I called right after from a different number & they answered.This practice botched up a dental procedure for my mother-in-law & she’s left with life long effects of not being able to eat on that side, when we tried to complain at the time the dentist had conveniently left. Recently again a filling which had then fallen out, and left unable to get an emergency appointment. It doesn’t seem patients are prioritised properly. We’ve had an odd good experience here but overall not reliable and very poor customer service / care.

Was seen as an emergency patient via 111. Was told it was a complicated extraction and referred. The referral was rejected and they were informed. But despite me calling them 4 times afterwards and being told that they had checked and that i had to wait for the referral, I rang the hospital I was referred to, they informed me of the rejection. I've been in unnecessary agony for the last 2 weeks because of them. Had to call 111 to get another emergency appointment because they won't answer their phones. Absolutely disgraceful. Avoid at all costs.

Rude, unprofessional reception staff who were argumentative about the treatment my husband was going to receive. Kept saying he was booked in for a filling when he wasn't, it was an extraction but as my husband tried to explain this she just kept talking over him. Then rang us back 15 minutes later telling us his appointment in 15 minutes was cancelled due to dentist sickness and thay they'd tried calling us the day before on our landline (we have never had one). The hadn't mentioned the cancelled appointment when we rang 15 minutes before and when we asked why she hadn't mentioned it when we rang earlier she said she'd got mixed up with another patient. No apology and a waste of time and fuel as we had to travel from york. We will not be returning.
