Visited today with my 92 year old mother. Whilst some of the staff, as with many NHS services, are great, we were made to wait for hours, while some under worked staff chatted and giggled or were otherwise "occupied" not treating patients. My mother was in agony (currently waiting for a hip replacement) while waiting for so long and eventually walked (staggered) out in disgust. Someone, anyone, needs to grasp the waste and shocking ineptitude occurring in our NHS as it is not only frustrating for patients but it must be even more so for the NHS staff who do care and do work hard.

I took my partner's 94 year old father to the centre for his first visit on Friday 10 May. Its quite a long trip for him as he lives some distance away. On arrival first impression is of a very efficient team working quietly away to get a good job well done. We had only been there 10 minutes when he was called in. I do not profess to understand all the test and scans he had done but I do understand they were carried out quickly quietly and efficiently. It took some time but that was due to complexity of the test. At each test and scan the NHS professional was understanding and explained everything they were doing whilst at the same time chatting very convivially. After 2 hours (it was our first visit) it was decided he would need an injection in the eye every month for a short time, The first one was carried out there and then and amazingly quickly. On completion the reception staff arrange a taxi for us and with in 10 minutes we were on our way home. Thank you to all the staff concerned and their support teams.
