My wife, who is wheelchair user, and I visited Salt Mill this Saturday 7 March 2026. We have been here before 3 years ago. While the Exhibition and displays are great but the place itself is not 'disabled friendly' for this century. Only one accessible toilet which doubles as a Baby changing room also. If a inconsiderate parent occupies about 40 minutes for a nappy change the disabled person 'bursting' is snookered! Trust me we faced that situation! There is one small lift servicing the whole building and a disabled person could end up waiting a long time to go up or down. I accept and appreciate the free entry but it may be worth considering an entry charge if only to invest in useful infrastructure! A must 'go to place' if you admire David Hockney paintings like we do. Great displays and souvenirs to buy! Generally staff are helpful but some are unfriendly to the point of being rude! Probably not trained in Customer care and poorly managed.

Marvellous space! Beautiful buildings sensitively used for a brilliant FREE Hockney exp on ground floor and many lovely art materials available to buy. Gorgeous book shop on higher floor plus lovely reasonably priced cafe. Biggest treat for me was the exhibition of Ian Beeson's deeply moving, thought provoking photographs! Also Free!! The UNESCO world heritage site that is Saltaire village is over the bridge (2 mins away) and is perfectly charming with the four lions who should have been in Trafalgar Square- can you spot them? All together makes for a really great day out, even in this misty-rainy weather

Incredible place, We Will Sing is amazing and is highly recommend a visit just for this, I really wish I could buy a vinyl album of the recording it was breathtaking. But there are also wonderful shops with books, stationery etc. Quite a few eating options, the carrot cake in the upper cafe is heavenly! And of course the artwork is fantastic. Very highly recommend!

Loved this old industrial building, wonderfully preserved. Went to the free Hockney exhibition and perused the gallery upstairs and bolt on antique store. It looked like a great cafe in the place too. All in a beautiful part of the world. What a great place to walk around Saltaire is.
